Gecko Announcements
The Rains have most definitely arrived but do not let that dampen your spirit of adventure! - and that is definitely how you would describe the 22km dirt track Cape Maclear road at the moment - prone to flooding, it is passable still with the assistance of the guys based at the Energem filling station who will assist with covering your exhaust & pushing your vehicle through the deeper areas while you steer with the engine off - a distance of around 200m give or take & they charge around $10-$15 depending on how many of them there are to help & size of car. The flooding will quickly drain away once the rain stops though & you would be able to drive through within a couple of hours of the heavier rain ceasing to fall. So far it has been raining during the night & then by lunchtime it brightens up and sun is out for the rest of the day.
