Looking for chalet or shared accommodations on Cape Maclear beach? We’ve got you covered, plus we offer Internet access, private verdanas, lake views and kitchen facilities.
Here at Gecko we have two family sized self contained Chalets that comprise of 1 x Double bed, 1 x Bunk bed, fully working kitchen facilities, en-suite toilet & hot shower, table fans, bed-side lamps, mosquito mesh windows & nets, candles & matches, private veranda looking out over the lake, braii area and hammock, secure parking space & internet access.
Rates for these rooms are (inclusive of 16.5% VAT & also be advised we cannot take credit card payments at this present moment & work on a cash only basis):
Single / Double: $80 per night
Three people: $90 per night
Four people: $100 per night
The above does not include breakfast / dinner & activities such as kayaking / diving / Dvd’s / internet etc are charged separately. A Dinner / Bed / Breakfast rate is available on request - please contact via email to for further information & all requests for availability & bookings.
Baobab & Acacia - Ensuite rooms
Newly built as of July 2008 we have 2 x extra rooms called Baobab & Acacia - both come with en-suite facilities & lake-views & priced @$55 per room (sleeping two people per room with doubles or single beds - they also have a bunk bed as well & add an extra $10 per night for 3rd or 4th person). The rooms have African Habitat Mosquito nets & mesh windows, valuables lockers & padlocks, towels, fans, candles & matches and are decorated with African artwork.
The Reed Room - Doubles & group rooms with shared ensuite
Newly redesigned in 2009 - This Room is often used for couples, families & group bookings that are looking for more cost effective alternatives to our other accommodation - the room is split into 3 sections via Bamboo & Reed walls set on wooden frames with Chitengi Material doorways.
Kampango Korner is a private area that has 2 x twin singles that fit together as a king size double - has an African Habitat Mosquito net covering both beds & fan & towels & mirror - this can be booked privately at $30 per night.
Chambo Cove is another section that has twin singles/king size double & a bunk bed - this also can be booked on a private basis at $30 per night & then $10 per bed for the extra bunk - comes with an African Habitat Mosquito net covering teh twin/double & 2 x fans & towels if needed - then between the two sections there is another bunk bed that can be booked at $10 per bed per night as well. Room has a shower & toilet as well as nets on all beds, fans & a lock box set up for storage. The whole room can be booked at $60 per night on a private basis
